"My role involves supporting families, not only by guiding them through the challenges that may arise, but also by encouraging them to cherish the beauty of this vulnerable experience."

Meet Shannon, Doula

While completing her Master's in Women's and Gender Studies, Shannon learned a great deal about adverse maternal and infant health outcomes faced by women in the United States, leading her to birth work. Doulas play a critical role in healthcare system as skilled community health workers.

Shannon embraces and celebrates all identities, family compositions, and belief systems. Her role involves supporting families, not only by guiding them through the challenges that may arise, but also by encouraging them to cherish the beauty of this vulnerable experience.

While working with Shannon, families will receive the latest evidence-based information that will allow them to make informed decisions in a secure and supportive environment.
