Why we do it

From birth to five years of age, kids form more than 1 million neural connections every second. Those critical changes taking place in their bodies and minds mean we must hold early learning experiences to high standards and give children the best chances at success.

I have learned ways to help the brain development of the children in my care, to be more present and pay more attention...[and] how to optimize their development.

Services offered

We work with community members to develop and provide innovative educational programs that nurture children to be their most brilliant selves. It’s a responsibility we take seriously, which is why we offer expert-led training sessions and seminars for parents, caregivers, and early childhood educators to ensure everyone acts in the best interest of children.

Four decades of dedication

For more than 40 years, the Association for Supportive Child Care (Candelen) has collaborated with Arizonans to convey the important role children’s early years play in their longterm success, health, and wellbeing. What started as a three-person operation has evolved into a multi-city organization that puts kids’ best interests at the heart of every decision.

Our public and private partners understand it is in the community’s best interest to provide kids with healthy childhoods, from both a social and financial perspective. Our funding from individuals, corporate sponsorships, grants, and government contracts helps make that mission a reality. See how you or your organization can support the cause.

Get involved

America's continuing efforts to improve education and develop a world-class workforce will be hampered without a commitment to early childhood education.
